Super Saturday - Magenta ATCoins Swap Part 2

If you saw my last post, then you know that Magenta is having an ATCoin swap! It's so fun to create little artworks on a 2.5" circle, and even more fun to swap with someone else. You can participate in this international swap by signing up here. Once you're matched up with someone, you can send them your ATCoins, and they will send you theirs. I can't wait! You can see my first two Coins here.

My third Coin has a Fall theme. I blended Distress Inks Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey and Mustard Seed onto the background. I thought I would try my technique of "stencil stamping" on this one. You can see the technique demonstrated on a previous post here. I sprayed the Magenta stencil TM286 Wavy Lines with water and placed the wet stencil onto my blended background. When I lifted up the stencil, it picked up some of the ink and the water reacted to the background leaving ghostly trails that look like branches.

I stamped the Distressed Background Text stamp just lightly on the bottom on the Coin in Tea Dye Distress ink. I then stamped the new Fall Berries stamp in Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut out the circle with the Frantic Stamper FRA-DIE-09637 Stitched Circle die that cuts it to exactly 2.5" and leaves a nice stitched edge.

The last coin in this series has a winter theme. I stamped onto watercolor cardstock one of my favorite new stamps in the new Magenta collection, Poinsettia Border. Under it I stamped the Peace sentiment from the top of the Peace Love Joy Calligraphy stamp designed by Sally Penley. I stamped everything in Versamark ink and embossed with Gold embossing powder. Sorry that in the photo the gold doesn't look shiny like it does in real life.

I tried photographing it at an oblique angle, which kind of makes it look oval, but you can see that the gold is shiny. I colored the poinsettia and the background with Kuretake Zig Clean Color markers and colored over those with a Wink of Stella glitter pen. You can almost see the glittery sparkle at this angle. Once again I cut this Coin out with the Stitched Circles die from Frantic Stanper.

Here are the backs of these two coins, using the new Magenta ATCoin stamp. You don't have to have this to participate in the swap, but it's a fun one to have. I plan to make lots more ATCoins. You can swap them, or you can adhere or insert them on cards or make tags from them. It's just such a fun size and shape.

Pam, Bianca and I did a joint post on the Magenta blog today and you can see that here. You can see Pam's post on her blog here.

You can go here to sign up for the Magenta swap, but hurry! The deadline is October 30 to sign up, then you have until November 12 to make and send out your ATCoins.

Magenta Super Saturday - Magenta ATCoins Swap Part 1

Magenta is having another ATC swap, and this time using the new, popular Coins! ATCoins are 2.5" (6.4 cm) in diameter, so small, cute and fun to make. If you want to participate in the swap, you can sign up here on the Magenta blog. I did a joint post with my friend and fellow Magenta DT member, Pam Nelson here on the Magenta blog today. Be sure to check it out to see Pam's coins! You can see her post here. We will do another joint post on her  regular day, the 27th.

For the swap, we are to each make 4 ATCoins, and Mariëtte will pair everyone up to make the exchanges. I hope whoever gets mine will like them! Magenta also has a new stamp that you can stamp on the back of your coins to record information about it. The stamp is jointly designed by Mariëtte van Leeuwen and Nathalie Métivier. You do not have to have this stamp to participate in the exchange, but if you like making these, you will want it! Be sure to scroll down to the end of this post to see the backs of these coins.

This first one was done with alcohol ink on a piece of Yupo paper. I added several different colors of oranges and greens, using Ranger alcohol ink, trying not to make mud. Then, using Alcohol Lift Ink, I stamped the new Magenta Gingko Branch stamp. This lifted ink from the surface in the shape of the stamp.

I cut the circle out using a stitched circle die from Frantic Stamper that measures exactly 2.5" For the bird image, I partially stamped the new Magenta Birds in Reeds stamp using black StazOn ink.

For my second coin, I cut out a piece of dark blue cardstock and used two stamps, also from the newest Magenta catalog. First I stamped the small Rosa Canina partially on the circle using Versamark ink, and then I also stamped the new hello! calligraphy stamp designed by Sally Penley, also in Versamark. I used white embossing powder on both stamped images and then colored the flower with Prismacolor pencils.

For the 4 ATCoins that I made for this swap, I wanted to use a Seasons theme (although a theme is not required).  These two coins are Spring and Summer. My hubby thought that dark blue was an interesting color for summer, but my argument is that it looks like a beautiful summer flower, and one of my favorite cardstocks to color on is this dark blue!

Here are the backs of both:

I love this stamp for the back! On both of these, I did stamp them on white cardstock and adhere them to the backs. The dark blue was too dark for the stamp, and the Yupo a little problematic to stamp it well. I cut them out using a Memory Box Stitched Circles die. There was one in the set that is 2.4" in diameter, and that was perfect for this stamp. For my other two coins, I was able to just stamp on the backs of them, so they are single layer. I love how this stamp has little flowers you can color if you wish. I tried to match the colors on the fronts a little. Look for my future post on the 27th for the other 2 coins; and if you want to participate in the exchange, be sure to sign up here.

Magenta Fall and Holiday 2018 Collection!

I'm excited to share with you the catalog for Magenta's brand new collection for the Fall and Holiday season! I honestly think that this is my favorite one of their collections. It has something for everyone, and many of the products can be used all year round and in every season, making this collection very versatile. Included are all of Sally Penley's beautiful calligraphy stamps. There are everyday sentiments as well as seasonal ones included, and all different sizes - they are gorgeous!

Also included are amazing new designs from Nathalie and Hélène Métevier, and DT member Ellie Knol. I think you're going to love these new designs; I certainly do! I have been showcasing many of the new stamps in my recent posts, and this catalog has some of my card designs at the back, in the gallery. So please go through all of the pages. There are also samples scattered throughout the catalog, as well as samples by other DT members.

I hope you enjoy browsing through the catalog, and if you want any of the products, you can order directly from Magenta at their online store here. Click on "Stamps" or "Stencils" to view the full collection at the store.

Also check out the Magenta blog here. Many of the Design Team members have already been making projects using the new collection. In fact, there are many posts using the new collection that date back to the end of July, so if you have not seen them, keep looking through the older posts to check them out.
