The Love of Those Around You

I find that one of the hardest cards to make is a sympathy card.  I don't want to put too much into it, or too little.  I want it to be good enough, but not over the top.  A simple, but elegant design usually works best for me.  We never want to have to send this kind of card, but unfortunately, all too often, the occasion does arise.

This lovely feather from Magenta is the definition of elegant, and the sentiment is heartfelt.  The feather was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Judikins Silver Detail embossing powder.  The feather was colored in blue with mica watercolor.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx black ink.  A tag was hand cut, and gems were sprinkled for a little extra touch.

Magenta stamps used:
42.191.K  Large Feather
07.817.H  May the Love of Those Around You

Other Items Used:
Versamark Ink
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
Judikins Silver Detail embossing powder
Stargazer Artquest Palette - Quasar Blue
Hero Arts Mixed Accents - Sea

  1. Hi Dianne! It was a delight to meet you at Art 'N Soul yesterday, next visit I will ensure I have lots of time to browse and chat. Who knew I would travel from Victoria to Olympia to find the perfect Canadian made stamps LOL Hope you make a visit to Victoria, we have three great art supply shops - Island Blue Print, Opus and Art World plus one locally owned stamp/papercrafting shop "Stampers".

You have achieved the perfect balance for your sympathy card and yes they are the hardest. Hugs,
