Inspiration Station August

At Art 'n Soul, our August Inspiration Station features a lovely sentiment stamp set by Dina Wakley called "Handwritten Quotes". These sentiments are all lovely, and as of this writing, Art 'n Soul still had some in stock.

Since I'm still so completely in love with Magenta's newest product, "Nuance" (a powdered, water-soluble die), I chose to use that for my cards.

With the first card, I masked off part of the watercolor panel, and sprinkled Nuance over the bottom right half. I sprayed pearly water (1/4 Perfect Pearls powder to 2 oz water) over the Nuance, and it seemed a little dark, so I added more yellow. I have not really made mud yet with these beautiful, vibrant colors, they seem to mix very well together.

After the Nuance dried, I stamped the Magenta stamp "Background" all over the colored part of the panel, using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then stamped the sentiment from "Handwritten Quotes" at an angle. I put some Nuance into a palette, and activated it by spraying with pearly water, and used that to flick dots onto the white part of the panel.

I matted the watercolor panel with So Silk Beauty Pink card stock.

Magenta Stamps and Nuance used:
Background 0290.E
Nuance Turquoise MNU-001

Other Products Used:

On my next card, I chose a different color scheme. I tried masking off a horizontal strip, and the colors leaked a lot underneath the masking (I used post-it tape instead of masking paper). When I took the masking off, I liked how it looked, so I went with it. Keep taking chances, good advice!
