Card Exchange: Canada

In the Magenta March card exchange my card went to Canada this time.

I used one of my favorite Magenta stamps, Ornamental Onion Tile, but in a different way. Using Stonehenge black watercolor paper, I stamped the image with gold Delicata ink, and then used opaque metallic watercolors from Iuile to paint over the image. You can get her paints in half pans, as sets, or as dot cards. The dot cards have lots of paint on them, and are fun to experiment with.

I die cut the panel with The Greetery Nordic Frame die, and matted with gold cardstock. The gold mat peeks through the die cut panel and complements the gold in the image.

Although the paint is somewhat opaque, it blended well with the Delicata ink so that some of the gold showed through. I stamped the sentiment - one of Sally Penley's lovely calligraphy stamps made for Magenta - using Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.

Here is a very out of focus image of the card, but I was trying to capture how glittery this paint actually is. It's beautiful in real life. At the end, I flicked gold Fine-Tec watercolor all over.
